Labour Councillor (Sutton/Surrey) Gary Stagg – Convicted on 2 counts of corruption and jailed for 18 months in 1998 after being caught trying to solicit cash backhanders from a local charity in return for supporting a land deal they were pursuing. The Labour sleazebag was caught red-handed attempting to trouser a £60,000 bung from the charity after being secretly filmed and taped by undercover police officers.
