Cllr. Dame Shirley Porter

Former Tory Leader of Westminster Council Dame Shirley Porter fled to Israel to evade justice after indulging in fraud, corruption and gerrymandering on a massive scale, during what became known as the “Homes for Votes” scandal. Multi-millionairess Porter was eventually persuaded to pay back £12 MILLION of the estimated £42 MILLION that the Tory’s corruption had cost local taxpayers. Her fellow fraudster, Tory Deputy Leader on the Council, David Weeks, also escaped a jail sentence, but was forced to pay back £44,000.
